Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover is an amazing item! All makeup girls and ladies know the unsafe practice and risk infection of not removing makeup, and the eye itself is a delicate organ. I find this eye makeup remover to be thorough enough to do the job and light enough to not cause any irritation. Mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, all comes off easily without unnecessary tugging and pulling and swiping. Just dab a quarter sized amount on a cotton pad and in a circular motion gently swipe around the eye area to remove makeup. Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover sells for $15 USD.

Bon Appetite

Mini Eclairs are a great French gourmet item to share amongst good company of family and friends. It is an oblong shaped pastry usually filled with custard cream and a chocolatey overcoat. Absolutely delicious!
For those who fancy the nails, the bottom half is Hibuscus Love&Beauty nail polish by Forever21 and top half is Burgundy by Elf nail polish.

What I Learned: 31 Days to Happiness

The first three chapters of 31 days to Happiness by David Jeremiah is full of wisdom based from King Solomon in the Bible and his quest for the meaning of life. King Solomon had a surplus of wealth and kingdoms, yet he faced the same emptiness as an ordinary person on Earth. His view is gloomy: One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever. - Ecclesiastes 1:4. Wealth, power, and pleasure is dangerous and unsatisfying even for the wisest man who ever lived. He attains everything but he finds there is nothing here; all is vanity, meaning life is totally, meaningless. He asked the Lord for wisdom but as he moved farther away from Lord and Creator during the course of his life, the greater became his emptiness, frustration, and confusion. Fulfilling dreams and goals and cherishing the memories that keep us happy is satisfying only when it is in the will of God. I enjoy reading this book simply because it is nice to gain insight from a witty, biblical perspective of how to keep happiness alive and well.

Samples, Please?

Sample tubs from the makeup counters come in quite handy, especially with so many choices of brands to choose from and not wanting to spend a fortune on a product you don't know will work for you or not. I steered away from making some wrong purchases simply because I asked for samples. I also became loyal to the Mary Kay beauty brand and few months later started up my own MK business because someone sent me few samples. So, next time you are in a makeup dilemma, before ringing up that plastic card, just ask for samples.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

In portrait: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Amande Med/Dark 3 from Nordstrom

I prefer to keep my makeup collection as natural and minimalistic as possible. I think rather than bombarding my face with products and collecting countless products to tackle whatever it was I was trying to tackle in the first place and only adding more countless things to tackle, it is safer, smarter, and cheaper to maintain a good skin with adequate eating and skincare habits.
If blemishes and imperfections do arise, I find NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to be a fantastic cover up. What I like about it is that it lasts all day without creasing or caking around the area; It layers gently and blends easily. It has a glowing, luminous finish and contains antioxidants and botanicals which help in anti-aging and hydration, respectively. It is literally perfect!
If you don't know which would work best for you, just ask the ladies at the makeup counter, they usually know what they are talking about. I got NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Amande Med/Dark 3 from Nordstrom for $29.00 USD.

Studio35Beauty Hair Remover Face Cream

In portrait: Studio35Beauty Hair Remover Face Cream from Duane Reade

Don't let the surprisingly cheap price of Studio35Beauty Hair Remover Face Cream ($5 USD) at Walgreens or Duane Reade stores keep you from purchasing it. I said goodbye to threading and tweezers after this discovery; I read that these tend to damage your skin over time. For having extremely sensitive skin, I still proceed with caution and prefer homemade face wax but Studio35Beauty is comparatively better than Nair and Sally Hansen face creams. Upon using Studio35Beauty Hair Remover Face Cream, I see significant reduction in hair growth over time and hair grows back, if any, thinner. Skin also feels clearer and softer. No burns and scrapes.
Have you tried this product yourself? What is your take on it?

A Travelette's Tip

In portrait: Travalo Refillable Perfume Spray in Hot Pink
Have you ever taken a perfume bottle when traveling only to find it leaked? A Travalo Refillable Perfume Atomizer Spray is one product I can never travel without. I learned about this handy product from beauty blogger ViviannaDoesMakeup. You can take any perfume on the go with you no matter which part of the world you visit. I purchased mine at Target for $10 USD.
The way it works is a bit technical: You remove the spray head from the perfume bottle of your choice, place the Travalo at an upright angle on the perfume nozzle peg, and repeatedly pump to fill. I felt like I was back in chemistry labs during my undergrad days working with test tubes. It comes with a protective crystallized case which is designed as a shield against dirt and scratches when carrying it in the purse or pocket. Travalo has a unique pressure regulating system that adjusts it to changing air pressure during flights and preventing any leaks. It is great to freshen up well, anywhere!

Sophisticated Packaging

In portrait: Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Lava Berry; Pink/White compact mirror from Love&Beauty by Forever21

I have never come across a lipstick with so much thought put into a stylish case! What I love about Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick is the ease in which it is to spot it amongst all the other lipsticks on the dressing table. One end has a transparent top that shows the radiant color while the other has the name written. No matter which direction you stand the lipstick, the shade is an easy find. I think this is a real treat for beauty lovers when it comes to makeup organization.
The application technique is equally unique. Just a push of the clear, click button top releases the lipstick and snaps it shut. Usually whenever I apply lipstick I always have a lip balm as a top coat. This lipstick, however, is intensely moisturizing and smooth. It contains advanced skin care ingredients such as castor seed oil, jojoba, sunflower seed oil, and soybean oil. Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Lava Berry sells for $18 USD.
